Happy Flashback Friday 🙂 This weeks Flashback is right on time. My dad passed away almost 3 years ago. Recovering from the grief of losing him is a lot of the inspiration behind why I started Chasing Joy. Although I am not constantly overcome with pain and sadness anymore some days are still rough. Like Father’s Day, which is this weekend. I basically like to pretend its just a normal day and try not to miss him too much. I’m sure some of you can relate. I’m not quite to the point of being able to use the day to celebrate how awesome he was but I can dedicate this Flashback Friday post to him. Today’s Flashback, Because of My Dad, is about all of the things that I know, feel, and have learned because of my dad.
Now it’s time to LINK UP!!! If you are not familiar with the Flashback here is the deal. Flashback Friday is where we Flashback to our older blog posts and link up! You can also post a link to your Flashback post on the Chasing Joy Facebook Page. Flashback Friday is a great way to rediscover our earlier works and discover some new blogs. Just pick out your link and add it below. Use hashtags #FBF or #FlashbackFriday on twitter to advertise your Flashback post.
Add your link below and be sure to check out AT LEAST TWO other Flashback posts. I suggest the two listed before your post to make it easy. Please leave a comment saying why you selected your Flashback post and what you thought about the other Flashback posts. I’m looking forward to reading all of your Flashbacks.
*Don’t forget to grab the I am Chasing Joy and Flashback Friday buttons!
**Also get updates from the Chasing Joy Facebook Page right on your I phone (click here) and download the Chasing Joy blog directly to your Kindle (click here) 🙂

Losing a parent is the hardest thing ever to go through. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I lost my mother back in September 2010 – it still feels like it happened yesterday. The only difference – it doesn't hurt as much as that day. Time, and time alone can mend that loss, my friend.
I hope your day was fabulous, nonetheless. I hope fond memories filled your heart and spirit.
Thank you also for tagging me with the Flashback Friday post. I was out of the office most of the week, last week – so I'm just now seeing it. I am extremely appreciative of the gesture though. My apologies for not putting the right link – I pushed enter before I could do so. At any rate, here's the link.

Again, my sincerest thanks to you. Blessings.

I'm so sorry for your loss!
OK – it may seem strange to be adding a link to ghost stories for Father's Day, but believe me, one of the stories in this post is perfect:
“Look For It, Baby” by Shelly Tucker
Shelly is a professional storyteller and this is a true story about something that happened to her shortly after she lost her father.
I hope you enjoy it!

Beautiful post sweetie. I lost my father in 2002 so I know what you're going through. My father and I had a love/hate relationship and he wasn't the best person in the world, but he was my Father and the only one I knew or had. He's always in my heart, along with my mother and brother. God bless you sweetie! Muwah! ~hugs~
p.s. I linked up! 🙂

Hey there – thanks so much for inviting me to participate. I am new to the link back thing, but I selected a guest post I wrote for the DC Goodwill Fashionista blog.
Will be thinking of you this weekend. Hang in there, honey. Your dad is looking down on you, smiling.
(((hugs)))

Thanks for encouraging me to link up. Your post is beautiful and definitely made me want to link up the post I wrote back in January about my Dad and in honor of Father's Day.
