Last month I posted about how blogging makes you brave. I talked about the different things I’d done since starting my blog that I’d have never even thought of before. Things like traveling out of state alone for blog conferences, asking for help with a charity event, and most significantly having my own series of events which I call the Chasing Joy Brunch & Learn.
The purpose of the Chasing Joy Brunch & Learn is to connect in real life with other positive, Joy minded people, people who read this blog, other bloggers, and social media enthusiasts and be inspired by motivators like Janeane Davis and Erika McDaniel (Check out their Bios) . The first #CJBL back in April was a huge success. I am still pleasantly surprised and thrilled at the positive response from the attendees. Prior to the event I was supper stressed about it. I had so many fears. I worried that no one would show up. I was afraid I’d be late or in some other way appear unprofessional. I was anxious over how the speakers would perform. I was completely freaked out over how to fill the time that one of my speakers would have used for her presentation after learning she’d been in accident. I felt like quitting so many times along the way as I prepared for the big day. I asked myself countless times why did I sign myself up for this. But I was brave and went through with it.
My bravery was rewarded. All of my prayers, hard work, and the support of my friends and family came together to produce an awesome event. Everyone left with a smile and the number one question I heard in the days that followed was “When is the next one!!!”
The next Chasing Joy Brunch & Learn will be Saturday August 3rd. Our speakers are Janeane Davis and Erika McDaniel. I am super excited to hear these ladies speak. Janeane was scheduled to speak at the April #CJBL but was in an accident only days before. She will be inspiring us to take control and define success for ourselves. Erika will bring her fashionista talent and professional stylist skills to teach us how to look as joyful and successful as Janeane will inspire us to be. I am also super excited for Maggiano’s buffet. If you have been there before you know the food is so yummy. The #CJBL Brunch buffet will not disappoint. In addition to the speakers and food we will have networking and the opportunity to make new friends, in real life!!! If you are in the Philadelphia Area I hope you will come. Let’s Chase Joy together in real life.Super Early Bird Registration is already open. Get your tickets now for only $35.
Having my own events requires all of the bravery that I can muster. But this blog has given me a new passion and purpose to make happiness and joy a priority and to encourage other to do the same. It is very fulfilling to face fears and be brave in pursuit of your own goals. Not many things provide a better feeling then a positive out come as reward for your bravery when it is all said and done.
When was the last time you were really brave? What were your fears? What was the outcome and was it worth it.
Because I want to see as many of you as possible at the Chasing Joy Brunch & Learn in August I am giving away two tickets. Use the Raffelcopter form below to enter. If you do not want to leave it up to chance get your tickets today by registering on the Chasing Joy Event’s Page.

Life is an act of bravery and it is why I encourage my children to live boldly and be brave…

I find that every day as a Wife and Mother is an act or bravery. Trying to be true to myself and the men I love should come easy, but I'm always trying to do my best and sometimes I feel like I fail.
But as the saying goes, "Be patient. God isn't finished with me yet."

I think each time I get up and get moving on the track, when I don't feel like it, when I would rather be doing anything else and I just do it.

I'm really brave every day I step out of my home. I've had so much happen to me, that staying right in my bed all day wouldn't surprise anyone that knows me. I take on the day, bravely, with God in my heart and a fire in my soul!

I thin you have inspired me to organize a lunch & learn here in Pittsburgh!

You should do it Heather!

I am so proud of you. I know how stressful these events can be – especially when I speaker can't make it. I recently ran a training session at work. It wasn't perfect, but it went very well and I feel stronger and confident. Someday we well have to meet up at a conference. Good luck in August I am sure it will be a success.

Thanks Savvy Working Gal. It is a bit stressful but so worth it when it comes together. I don't think they ever go perfectly though. Yes keep me posted about which conferences you go to.
