This weekend I had my cup filled up at the Belong Tour. What cup you ask. Well, several. My faith cup. My encouragement cup. My self-worth cup. My self- care cup.
I had never heard of the Belong Tour until recently. So, I did not know what to expect when I arrived at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia last Friday night. I knew from the Belong Tour website that the goal of the tour, to help women live a fun, faith-filled, purposeful life, and the topics, heart, soul, mind, and strength, that I should have a good time at the tour. I was not disappointed.
The speakers were inspiring. The musicians were entertaining. The atmosphere was uplifting. The Belong Tour can change you for the better and make you a more Joyful person. I say can because like anything else you will get out of it what you put in. If you go in with an open mind and prepared to be inspired you will come out encouraged, hopeful, and motivated.
What you should expect:
Expect to spend two days thinking about yourself. Not in a selfish way but in a self improvement way. You will reflect on yourself at different stages in your life. You will remember the best version of yourself and reflect on how close or far you are from her.
Expect to be challenged to have better relationships. The benefits of being more open as well as the dangers of being needy will be explored.
Expect to spend some time thinking about who you really are. Not what you do but who you are outside of your roles and responsibilities. Who you are outside of being a mom, a wife, a daughter, a caregiver, an employee, a boss, etc…
Expect to engage your faith. While no one will try to convert you at the Belong Tour, it is a Christian event. There will be prayer and talk of Jesus’s love and encouragement.
Expect to laugh. All of the speakers and musicians were great. I think all of them made me laugh. However, I have to single out Patsy Clairmont as the speaker who made me laugh out loud the most.
Expect to hear all kinds of tidbits of wisdom. So bring a note book and a pen. You will want to write things down. My cousin and I talked to a woman who had attended the precursor to the Belong Tour, the Women of Faith conference. She had one notebook that she added to every year with inspiration from the event.
Expect to want to discuss the things you learn and reflect on at the tour. So go with a friend or two.
The Belong Tour is a great self care event. I encourage you to go to one of the tour stops near you. You won’t be disappointed. You will be inspired, hopeful, and more Joyful. Go Chase Joy at the Belong Tour!
