It is so important to identify things that you love to do an
d do them whenever you get a chance. This is self-care. I love the Flower Show and was super excited to attend the 2017 Philadelphia Flower Show this past weekend.
On saturday I took SEPTA’s regional rail train into center city to meet my friend and head to the 2017 Philadelphia Flower Show at the Philadelphia Convention Center. My train arrived a few minutes early. The ride was smooth and pleasant and so went the rest of the day.
The theme of the 2017 Philadelphia Flower show was Holland. Holland is the bicycle capital of the world. Bicycles were represented throughout the exhibits, as were windmills and bridges. The main display exhibited all three and was simply amazing. I loved the bright colors of the tulips. In addition to the flowers on the ground there were also flowers hanging from the ceiling that incorporated lights and music into the display. This display Welkom was perfectly positioned right at the main entry.
The main display was my favorite. However, all of the displays were amazing to see. You can tell the exhibitors paid great attention to detail in putting the displays together. I spoke to a Temple Student (shout out to my Alma Mater) who explained that they worked a a team and won 5 awards for their exhibit.
There were also cool activities at the Flower show like stepping into these huge shoes in the Ecodome. You could also have your picture taken at the #ILookToHer FTD Flowers both. If you happened to be their on opening day you may have received free flowers.

These floral displays are amazing. I don’t know if my allergies would kick in, but this show I’d love to see.
I love a beautiful floral display. I’ve never been to a flower show but I will check to see if it will be in my town. Those shoes are hilarious.
So I read the title of this post and almost started crying (I’ll blame PMS) but because of the memories. I grew up 25 minutes outside of Philly and LOVED going to the flower show, even as a little kid. I went to Holland last year but missed the tulips but I would have loved my time there. Thank you so much for sharing this.

This is absolutely beautiful and looks like a great place to visit! I would definitely have to take allergy medicine beforehand but it would definitely be worth it.

This looks gorgeous. Every year I say I’ll go to the flower show. Then every year I forget about it, it sneaks up on me and I never make it. Hopefully next year I can take the hike over there. I don’t know about using Septa though… I’ve been spoiled by NJTransit and hear some not so great things about Septa.

My gram used to love the flower shows and I haven’t gone to one yet but I’d love to. I’m sure there were amazing flowers that make you want to go home and plant a garden LOL
I haven’t been to a flower show yet, however, I’ve been to flower parades. I would love to go to next year’s Philadelphia Flower Show. It is going to be an amazing experience to be with all those pretty flowers!
