I did it! I finally did (started) my vision board.
This has been on my to do list for over a year. I think it was January 2014 when my blogger friend from Your Chic Is Showing invited me over for a vision board part. At that party I clipped out some magazine images but never actually created a board. As a matter of fact I actually put my poster board and magazine clippings in a closet and never looked at them again until yesterday.
Then in August of 2014 I learned more about vision boards from the ladies of S.H.A.R.E. when they spoke about them and the Laws of Attraction at the Chasing Joy Brunch & Learn. After the brunch I had every intent to do the board but I never did.
So what made me get it done today? Well, If you’ve been reading the blog the last couple of weeks than you may know that I am hoping/ planning/ praying to become a mom this year. I want to channel all of my positive attention toward baby making. In thinking about doing that I kept coming back to needing to get my vision board done. A couple of weeks ago I purchased two magazines to go through for clippings. Today I finally got down to business and started my vision board.
When I started I though I would be finishing the board today. I was wrong. I thought I had a lot of clippings to add to the board but I did not have enough. So I would say right now my vision board is about 65% complete. I am hoping to finish it this week.
While I wont take you through each and every clipping on my board I will tell you a little about it and show a couple of pictures. I broke my board down into five areas. From left to right (clockwise) are Love, Health, Confidence, Blogging and Money. Love contains clippings of my vision for my future husband and children. Health includes my vision of eating right, exercising, losing weight, de-stressing, and getting more sleep. Confidence is all about me loving myself more accepting my body, trusting my instincts, and embracing my sexuality. Blogging is all about the Chasing Joy Brand. Last but certainly not lease is Money which includes clippings on my vision of having a retirement nest egg, increasing my annual salary, and improving my financial position. Some of my favorite clipping so far are “Go To Bed With A Sure Thing” and the positive pregnancy tests in the love section, “Feeling Good” which really covers both he health and Confidence section, the clip out of Awesomely Luvvie in the Blog section and the picture of the nest egg in the Money section. You can see form the picture below that I still have too much blank space on my board so It is certainly not complete but I am really happy with what I have so far.
Oh, I almost for got, my favorite thing about the message board is the fact that I have put it all together with push pins. That means that this is what we’d call a “living document” at work. It is designed so that I can pull out the pins and rearrange, and change the clippings as my vision evolves.
Have you ever done a vision board? Did you have categories on it? What were some of your favorite elements on the board? Do you think vision boards work or is do you think it is all a bunch of hoopla?

I haven't done one for YEARS, things have just been super insane. No coincidence they have been challenging years, I need to get back into the swing of doing my vision boards. I actually like to use my computer and make a collage on the computer and make that collage my wallpaper so I see it everday when I log on, I am going to have to work on this with some wine over Christmas Weekend! Thanks for the inspiration.

This is a lovely idea. I also like the pushpin idea so it can be adapted as the year progresses.

Vision boards are really amazing. I created one in 2013 and within a year nearly ALL of the visions came true! I am now going to be making a new one this year for 2016 forward!

I have never made a vision board, but I love the idea of starting one. Maybe I can do one with my family, and we can collectively add to it our family goals for the year.

I have a vision board, I call it Pinterest. LOL I was on the beta team for Pinterest and that is how I set mine up; many of those boards are still there even though I use it for a lot more bloggy things now.

This is such a great way to stay focused on your goals and even change and update them. I've never tried making one for myself.

A vision board is something a bit different; I use google calendar to put some goals into and my husband does the old style of writing things out in his calendar/journals. Posting similar things on boards is a good idea for sure.

I did my vision board about 10 months ago and before that I had a vision book.
I've already started seeing some things happen in my life that are on the board. I'll make one for every year this was one for what I envisioned my future to look like. https://instagram.com/p/owACywlcwh/?taken-by=sam_delights
I've put relationship (family & marriage) health (wellness & fitness), finance (savings & income) career, blogging and writing.
