Yesterday as me and my mom were leaving church ( yes I have been attending Epic regularly) she said, “that was for you”. She was talking about the sermon and I have to agree with her. I mean it even came complete with a hashtag, #TisTheSeason. You know I’m all about that! The subject of the sermon was #TisTheSeason for Hope.
Lately I have been feeling really down about some things in my life. Specifically feeling lonely, disenchanted with men and the dating process and worrying about turning 35 in a few months with no dating prospects and what that means for me wanting to have children. I have been dating for about 20 years now. I’ve always wanted to be a wife and a mom. I am human and even while Chasing Joy I have my down moments where I feel like when is it going to be my turn. I guess I have been feeling kind of hopeless.
My mom said my hope cup needed to be replenished and that’s why the sermon was meant for me. I did enjoy the sermon and I do feel a bit better. So with hope on my mind I decided to come up with a few HOPE acronyms that I can focus on when my hope cup is again in need of refilling.
Can you think of any other Acronyms for HOPE? How do you replenish when your hope cup is almost empty?
Now, speaking of hope. A few of you entered the Chasing Joy Ornament giveaway and are hoping that you have won. The winners of the giveaway are….. drum-roll please….. Debbie and Heather. Congrats Ladies! I will be contacting you to confirm your prizes.
PS. Remember, good friends PIN!

Humbly Overturn Problem to Everlasting God! Yes! I love that one.
When I got married, many of my friends were already married with children. I definitely had those feelings of when is it my turn.
For me, it took me taking my focus off of it and totally focusing on God. I was hard core in my church and my best friend turned out to be my husband. I wasn't expecting it and there he was.
Hold on, girlie.

I know it can suck in the dating field and especially with social media people are popping up engaged, married and kids and you do wonder when is my turn? I am in my late 20s and it still makes me a little upset at times because I wanna have someone too but I definitely have hope. There is always next year, 2015 I will be even more open!

This time of year is for family, faith and togetherness, but they can also be very overwhelming and stressful. Keeping this like this in mind can help you get through the bad and let you enjoy the good.

It is great that you could take something away from that sermon and really make it a positive in your life. Hang in there, you will find your happiness and soul mate.

I love that you not only tried to look for the best in the situation, but you actually put a ton of thought into finding that joy as well. Great acronyms! Just remember to keep praying and trusting and He'll give you the desires of your heart, even better than you ever could have imagined! <3

Jer 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you,β declares the LORD, βplans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Aww! My heart goes out to you my sister! God is faithful, and will answer your prayers. If there is anyone's word that you can trust fully, it is our Father in heaven.
I want to give you some hope. I was in your situation about 9 years ago. I couldn't find the right fit…dated many men, and it seemed to me like I had to jump through many more dates or so just to find the right fit. I was discouraged as well. Even if I went on more dates, I always asked myself the question…. "would I connect with someone?" The enemy wants to plant thoughts in your head about "never getting married" "too late for children" ect. He will battle that out in your head, which is not from the Lord.
I went to a Christian dating website named "Christian Cafe",…met many prospects that turned out to be great matches. One man really stood out to me, and we ended up getting married 6 months later. I have to say, being that I gave it up to the Lord, he picked out the IDEAL match for me, and will do for you as well.
Now, after 9 years, we are having our first baby. My husband was 35 when we got married, and I am 9 years younger. So have hope!
The best thing about dating online is you can form a deep emotional connection, unlike being in person at first. You can get to know the persons heart, and really take your time to dig deeper into a relationship, and then take it from there. Also, you can sort of "shop" profiles without actually having to go for coffee.
I lived in Canada, and my husband lived in the States. So don't let the distance discourage you either.
Our Father has a plan for your life, and it is so much more amazing than you can possibly think and plan out for yourself.
Have hope, and be faithful in prayer. Pray for your husband today. Keep praying for him. I was really blessed with the thought that my husband prayed for his future wife since he was a teenager. He didn't get to meet me until 35… So all things are possible with the Lord. In Jesus name, everything is possible! Blessings to you my dear! Meranda

My SIL felt like you do, and she dated for decades too w/o finding the right Mr. Right. When she did, it was so right it seemed like that time she was missing him hadn't even happened. Happy endings are worth waiting for… definitely. π

Keep it up and positive. After a bad marriage I was there. I met my 'one meant for me" when I was 34. Best accidental meeting (well maybe not accidental) I ever had.
