I have to admit sometimes if feels a little weird to share my trying to conceive journey. I mean on my videos I keep it very real. I mean TMI, watch me get sperm put inside my VaJayJay real! But I do it for a reason. When I was first thinking of becoming a Single Mother By Choice I had a hard time finding info that was from real women, especially black women. I found forums and info from fertility clinics but not many blogs or vlogs. The ones I did find were super helpful so I felt it was only right that I make myself available for those making this decision (or thinking about it) after me. I want to shed light on this alternative type of family. I also want to answer any questions that you may have. That is what today’s baby making update is about .
There is not a whole lot going on in the baby making department. I am still waiting on my most recent cycle day 3 test results to come back. These results will allow the doctor to determine how likely it is that I will have success with IVF (my next step). I’m also trying to lose some weight to meet the BMI requirements for IVF. Since I did not have anything interesting to report I decided to take to social media and invite you guys to ask me whatever questions you may have about my Single Mother By Choice journey. I received an interesting question on my Instagram. She wanted to know if I ever get discouraged and want to give up on trying to conceive.
Check out this video for my response.
For those of you who are on or have been on the trying to conceive journey, how would you answer the question? Have you ever wanted to give up on trying to conceive? If you have never tried to get pregnant how have you ever felt discouraged and wanted to give up on one of your really important goals? Do you have any questions about my journey to be a Single Mother By Choice?

I woke up in the wee hours of the morning crying about my SMC in waiting situation. This journey is so hard and no one seems to understand. It’s unusual and people probably say “just get a guy and have the baby.” It’s not always that simple.
Stay encouraged my friend.

One more. . . though I have not signed up for it yet. They don’t respond as quickly to emails, but I still think it is a great resource:

These links inspired me–a few before I even knew SMC was a “thing.” I started this journey down one road and wound up on this one. . . but I continue traveling on this road because I have a goal in mind–being a mom.

Of course, Boston Girl 5560 was a great inspiration and the TTC youtubers–that’s how I learned to give myself the IVF injections and the lingo.

Girl, I have some blogs for you. . . .will send links in another reply.
Questions for you:
* What specific things do you want to do with your child?
* What ways do you memorialize every baby making attempt other than blog/vlog videos? Do you scrapbook your journey?
* Do you keep a babymaking written journal? Other than the blog/vlogs?
* What made you want to make your journey public?
* What one person inspired you to become an SMC? (non-relative)
