Happy Memorial Day Joy Chasers! I hope you’re having a fantastic Memorial Day and had a good weekend. Mine hasn’t quite going as planned. It started off good with a workshop led by the wonderful ladies S.H.A.R.E, about dating (you can expect a blog post about that soon). Yaritza and Damaris are so awesome, I can’t wait for their Law of Attraction presentation during the Chasing Joy Brunch and Learn. Saturday was pretty good. I had a date that was not a disaster LOL. Then things kind of went downhill on Sunday. My mom wasn’t feeling well and that pretty much put a damper on the rest of the weekend.
I will never go so far as to say that there is a bright side to having a loved one with an illness. However, one thing that situation teaches is how to evaluate what is truly important in life, family, friends and laughter. Which brings me to Memorial Day. Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer. It’s the day barbecue grills get pulled out, fireworks start being lit and everybody’s minds start to drift toward summer vacations and days at the shore. All of those things are great, however Memorial Day is so much more than that..
Memorial Day is a day where we pay attention to one of the things it’s really important in life. It’s the day where we pay attention to and show appreciation for the men and women who defend our country. These men and women volunteer to go into the most dangerous places in the world on our behalf to keep us safe and at home, where we can focus on BBQs days at the shore and summer vacations. It’s a thankless job most of the time, but Memorial Day is a day where we as a country can say thank you.
Men and women of the services and their families I thank you very much! Your commitment is appreciated and very much valued. Thank you for keeping me safe to Chase Joy.
How did you spend your Memorial Day weekend and who saved me some barbecue lol 🙂 ?
