Happy Friday!!!!
When I close my eye and imagine my future Joyful self I see myself as a mom. I always have. My life has not gone as I planned or expected. By now, age 37, I was supposed to be married, a mom, and rich. Yup, that was the plan. Yet here I sit at my inherited dining room table, in the modest home, that I share with my cats. LOL No husband. No kids. Definitely not rich. But Chasing Joy has done me well and I am happier than I was 7 years despite things having not turned out as planned.
So what do you do when life does not go as planned? Have you ever heard the saying there are many ways to skin a cat? Obviously I would never harm a cat but this saying makes a great point. I have not given up on my dreams of motherhood but I am going about it in a different way. I am two plus years into trying to conceive on my own. The revised plan is to become a Single Mother By Choice before I age out of having my own biological child.
I did not plan for this journey to take two plus years but it has. During these years I have had the same fertility doctor. I was referred to the clinic I am using by my gynecologist and she happened to be the doctor at this location. I did not look her up or vet her or anything. But I like her and have a high opinion of her. That is why I was so surprised at what my nurse said during one of our last calls.
As you guys know my ERA Results are in. Well, at the end of the call where my nurse gave me those results I asked when would I speak to my doctor. That is when she said the unexpected, I think you should switch fertility doctors. I was surprised but honestly I had been thinking a little about switching fertility doctors myself. So what should I do?
This week’s baby making update video is about why my nurse suggested I switch fertility doctors, why I was already thinking about it, and what I actually decided to do. Check it out below.

Hi Arlette,
I am glad you switched doctors, I meant to message you but didn’t want to overstep boundaries. I was also going to ask if they did a full thyroid check and tested you for the muthr gene or to see if you have the antibodies that attacks foreign embryos. Has your doctor considered intralipids infusion? Sorry so many questions.
I started the ivf journey last years and I had autoimmune issues and after steroids and intralipids I was successful. I want you to know that you inspired me to go down the smbc route. It was a tough decision but you really spoke to my spirit. I pray for you often and wish you all the very best.
All the best,
TF
