Dear 2018,
Oh what a year you have been! First and foremost let me thank you for my most precious gift and greatest blessing ever. This year 2018 you gave me my son. We call him Baby Joy Chaser. For this alone I have to call you a great year. It was such a long journey to Motherhood. 2015 and 2016 both let me let me down. Then 2017 came through with the positive pregnancy test. 2018 you delivered by allowing me to deliver my baby boy. For that you are great.
However, you’ve been a complex year. While you were great by allowing me to become a mom you also robbed several people of their mothers. This year our family lost 3 moms. There children ranged in age from grown-ups to barely a teen. Watching my nieces and nephews put their mom to rest was one of the most painful experiences of this year. So in that sense, 2018, you were tough for my family.
Career-wise you gave me enough energy to keep going. I was happy to do two brunches this year. One while pregnant and one with the baby in the audience. You also granted my wish of a new team at the day job.
As for my personal life… I am still taking boyfriend applications. Only serious applicants need apply LOL. 2018 brought me a few new friends. It also showed me which people I need to draw near to and which ones I need to back away from.
Overall 2018 I’m very pleased with you. You had one main job to do and you did it. You completed the task that 2017 started and made me a mom for that I thank you.
P.S. I appreciate you for the Eagles Super Bowl win and for lettimg me see Michelle Obama on the Becoming tour.
What’s in your letter to 2018?
