Happy New Year Joy Chasers!!!
Everyone, OK not everyone, but lots of us are setting resolutions for 2013. Some of us are off to a great start while others of us have already had a cookie, cigarette, or spent money online shopping and will have to start over tomorrow.
I have a few things I want to focus on in 2013. They are a little different from the typical resolution but they will be challenging nevertheless. Here goes (of course it’s a list, you know I love lists):
- Continue my resolution from 2012 to leave my house every day. Sometimes I still have to push myself to get out there and have a life.
- Continue with a resolution I’ve been making for almost a decade, to stop doing things I don’t want to do. It is getting easier. But this saying No thing is really something that constantly requires practice.
- I will not go on any diet or new fitness/eating plan for at least the first quarter of the year.
- I will not step on a Scale. Now this one and the no dieting go together. I’m honestly scared to death of them. They feel backwards because resolutions are often about dieting, exercising and giving up sweets. These are things I’ve tried and focused on for years now and have only watched the scale go up. Mental Note watching the scale does not prevent it from going up* I want to learnt to trust myself, accept myself, and love myself outside of any sort of wellness plan and how well I’m sticking to it. Now I still believe I should treat my body as my temple. I just want to do it naturally and intuitively instead of being on some sort of plan. I would like to have these be year long resolutions but I will focus on just the first quarter of the year and see if I want to stick to it or not.
What are your plans for 2013? Do you make resolutions? If so, are any of them unconventional?

My goals this year include being honest about my feelings/speaking up and stop letting fear keep me from doing the things I know I can do.

I like this approach! Instead of saying what we are *going* to do, maybe we would see more success at the end of the year if we commit ourselves to what we *are not* going to do! I'm going to try this for myself! ~Thanks! 🙂

My main resolution is to enjoy my life. Sounds simple, but really, it's a hard thing to do!

This year I've decided to pick two areas of my life that I want to work on and then plan it out for the year in attainable goals… once is health and the other is money, how I approach either, might end up being unconventional, still planning it out though 🙂

Interesting that you made a resolution to go out everyday. Where do you go? Love going to the museum or the park. I often spend the entire weekend inside if I'm tired or it's cold:) Often feel down about not getting anything accomplished, but remind myself that I really did–I need to rest and relax at times!

I don't think I've made any unconventional resolutions – which actually makes me feel kind of boring. I think this is an exciting list and I like that it's unconventional, good luck going into 2013 🙂

My only goal for this year is to lose the baby weight. I've given myself 18 months to get things together mentally/emotionally and now I'm ready. So from Jan – March that's all I'm going to focus on. I realized that I never stopped eating the way I ate when I was pregnant so I have to re-train myself to eat like I used to.

Love your goals! I'm not a huge resolution maker, but I'm constantly evaluating goals that I set for myself and determining what needs to be changed to get myself to where I want/should be. This year my focus is going to be on being more focused and specific with my wants, needs, desires and time. Happy New Year to you all!

Like you, I am resolving to not get on a scale. I am going to go by how my clothes feel. The last two years I weighed myself once a week and depending on the number of the scale would either make me happy or make me totally upset with myself. So, this year, I will continue to pay attention to what I'm eating and make better choices but I'm not getting on the scale anymore.
I am recovering from a pulled muscle so I can't Zumba at all, which I love so I am focusing my energy on yoga. I've toyed around with it every now and then but now that I can't do much else I am just going to go for it. Classes starting tonight.

I am about to write a post with my business resolutions. Weight is still my big personal goal and it is going very well 🙂 Hoping to lose 10 more pounds by Feburary, maybe 🙂

Those sound like awesome resolutions gf. Don't pressure yourself if you slip and fall. I don't make resolutions anymore. I mentally tell myself to just try and be the best person I can be…. for today. Happy New Year!

I keep my resolutions simple. Mine is to follow God in everything I do. That will be my motivating factor this year. Studying the Bible to be able to identify God's will for me in every situation and then following His calling everyday of 2013.

I don't make resolutions in January as my new year begins in September when the kids return to school. I do review my goals and that of my family. We also create a vision board. One goal I have is to schedule a fun trip with my husband. A trip where we do absolutely no work…
