A few years ago, while going over the Pillars of Joy at a Chasing Joy event I noticed several women in the room looking at me skeptically. I had just going over the importance of having some me time as part of your self-care routine. I noticed them laughing and speaking in hushed tones to each other about how impossible that was because of their children. At the time I was not a mom so I couldn’t give first-hand advice on how to manage that challenge. However, I did speak to the importance of trying to find a solution.
I gave two reasons. One – our children are always watching. They look to us to set examples of how to live their lives, prioritize, and care for themselves. Two – happy moms have happy children simple as that.
Fast forward a couple years and now I am the mom of a ten-month-old. Even though I am still a new mom I have a bit more understanding of where those moms in my audience were coming from. However, my opinion remains the same. Having me time is an important aspect of self-care maybe even more so for moms who set the tone and their families. That’s why I am so excited she be speaking at Mama’s day off event hosted by Mama’s mark.
The entire day is devoted to me time for the moms. They get to leave their little ones or their not so little ones at home and come and have a day off complete with continental breakfast and all sorts of bonding, self-care and inspiring activities.
As a new mom I am so aware of how hard Mom’s work. That’s why I’m happy to be giving away two tickets to Mama’s Day Off. This will be the easiest giveaway you have ever entered.
Simply share the above image on Instagram along with a caption saying why you want to attend. Include the hashtag #MamasDayOff and tag Me @ChasingJoy and @Mamasmark. You must also be following @ChasingJoy on Instagram. One winner will be chosen at random from the entrees on March 18th. That winner will have 48 hours from the time they are notified to claim the two tickets.
Good Luck!
