Happy Martin Luther King Day!!! I hope you are lucky enough to be enjoying a holiday from work. I am off from the day job and enjoyed the blessing of being able to sleep late. I know once I am blessed with a bundle of joy there will be no more sleeping late.
Anyway, today is Martin Luther King Day. With all of the uncertainty many of are feeling with the inauguration this week I think it is important that we focus on something positive like Martin Luther King, specifically are we dreaming like Martin Luther King. Last year I wrote about Dr. King and how he put his all and ultimately his life into his dream. I asked the question are we putting our all into our dreams. Are we dreaming like Martin Luther King??? For me, being honest, the answer is sometimes yes, sometimes no. Why not an infinite yes? Because I need a little more clarity on my dreams.
In order for us to really be dreaming like Martin Luther King we have to be clear on what our dreams look like. Once we get really clear on what our dreams are we can make sure our prayers, actions, mentors, supporters, time spent, and money spent are all in alignment. So what does my dream look like.
I have a dream to spend my weekends at chuck-e-cheese, Bounce U, Dave & Busters, and little league football or cheerleading games looking after my bundle of joy. I have a dream to hear a little person say mom and be referring to me.
I have a dream to come home to a house that is clean and organized and reflective of my personality and style. I have a dream to have a driveway in front of that home. I have a dream that that home complete with driveway would be located in a safe neighborhood with good schools.
I have dream to encourage and make women feel empowered to create the joyful lives that they want. I have a dream to change people’s lives, to help people, and add value to the world. I have a dream that my hardships and challenges would be someone else’s inspiration and encouragement. I have a dream that Chasing Joy events would sell out within a week and that the site would have six figure pageviews.
I have a dream that my spiritual life and faith would come more natural and without anxiety. I have a dream that I would feel more at ease with organized religion.
I have a dream of being debt free. I have a dream of owning my home and car outright. I have a dream of paying my credit card and other bills in full each month. I have a dream of never paying interest.
I have a dream of being in love and being loved by my Mr. Joy Chaser. I have a dream of being an having a partner in life. I have a dream of sharing all of the love and affection I have within my heart as a wife. I have a dream of marrying a man who will love me and my future bundle of joy.
I have a dream to be at a healthy weight that I am 100% satisfied with. I have a dream to have stress free shopping experiences. I have a dream to not have guilt related to food or exercise. I have a dream to eat my food and not my emotions.
These are my dreams. Now that I have clarity I can start dreaming like Martin Luther King. This will also help me when I start planning my vision board at the #CJBL.
Last year I challenged you to write out your dream for a joyful life. Have you done it? How can you start dreaming like Martin Luther King if you are not clear on your dreams.
