Guess who was the bowling league MVP? If you guessed your’s truly then you are wrong. Ha Ha! But I did win some money.
Monday night was the last meet of the work bowling league. We had a little party complete with food and Jack Daniels, lol. Awards were given out to the team that won, the top bowlers, the most improved bowler, and for a bunch of other categories in such a way that everyone went home with a little money. I came away with $40.
If you remember when the leauge started I was not very good. As a matter of fact, I sucked. But, I decided to stick with it because I thought it would be good for me to stick with something that I was not good at.
I’d secretly hoped after a few weeks I’d be transformed into a good bowler. Well, that certainly did not happen. My first games in the league were all in the 80s. I ended the season with an average of only 82. However, the highlight for me was that my very last game on Monday, my last game of the league season, was my best game ever. I scored a personal best of 112!!! For me thats like a Turkey (I know what that is now, three strikes in a row).
I’m not sure if I’ll bowl again next season. They start back in the fall. I’m praying I’ll be pregnant with my bundle of joy by then.
Lesson learned: Joy can be found in sticking with things even when your not very good at them.
Have you stuck with something to the end even when you sucked at it? Do you bowl? How long did it take you to get good?
