It’s funny how time changes things, changes our point of view. When I first purchased my home I liked the fact that it did not have a front lawn. What once was the lawn had been cemented over into a patio. I knew nothing about lawns and was glad not to have to care for one. Fast forward 10 years and I would appreciate a little grass out front.
Luck for me a few years back I discovered
these Asiatic Lilies. They bloom in beautiful colors. The do well in my container garden. The best thing is that they have grown back each year with absolutely no help from me. Every summer they shoot up, bloom in a variety of colors, and fill me with so much joy. It’s like having a little bit of joy on repeat.
I may not have a nice lawn outside my house but I do have the Lilies bringing a bright spot of joy to my concrete slab.
What is bringing you a bright spot of Joy this summer?

Weird this, but Dole's Sunflower Crunch Chopped Salad is something I've picked up in the spring, but I look forward to eating more in the summer. Something about the juxtaposition of the nutty sunflowers with the creamy citrus-onion dressing and the perfectly chopped kale and cabbage and shredded cabbage and scallion slivers … oh my.
I didn't get paid to write that either ;-P
That's a bright spot of Joy for this summer for me.
