The saying is the clothes make the man. The validity of that statement is debatable. However, what you wear is definitely important. It is important for the obvious reasons like making first impressions, inspiring confidence, and creating an atmosphere of professionalism or comfort. What is often overlooked is how what we are wearing makes us feel.
I don’t know about you, but when I look good I feel good. When I feel good I look even better. You see how that works. That’s why knowing how to dress for our body types and figuring out our own style is so important.
I have had the pleasure of meeting quite a few of you in person over the years at Chasing Joy events and Blog Conferences. So I know first hand that you are a sharp bunch. Many of you probably have signature colors that you love to wear. For some it is an all black outfit or always red shoes. Others may have a go to item that is a little more subtle. Perhaps you always wear pearls or gold earrings to important events.
For me it is a ring. My white gold Temple University Class Ring to be exact. I feel kind of naked without it. A few weeks ago I posted on Facebook explaining my feelings about it.
(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));
My ring is no longer alone. I now have a new accessory that gives me Joy when I put it on. It is my Joy is in the Journey necklace. This is a new item so it does not carry with it the sentimentality that my school ring bears. What my Joy is in the Journey necklace does is remind me of blogging, all that I have accomplished through this blog, and that while I may have named this journey Chasing Joy, Joy is not something waiting for me at the finish line. Joy is available to me every step of the Journey.
I am so glad I won this Joy in the Journey necklace from Cocomommy’s giveaway. In fact, I am so glad I won it that I want to give you a chance to win your own. I want you all to find Joy in the Journey. I want you all to have something to wear that makes you feel Joyful. Unfortunately, I only have one to give away. Use the Rafflecopter form below to be entered to win. The winner will be drawn at random. As a sign of appreciation I am giving extra entries for those of you who have signed up to get Chasing Joy delivered to your email.
Before you enter the giveaway, tell me, do you have a special accessory or article of clothing that makes you feel especially joyful?

I used to have a pair of earrings that my father gave to me when I was in my teen. They used to be my favorite thing to wear. Sadly I lost one of the gold earrings during a school event. =(

The ring Mr. B gave me when we were dating. It wasn't an engagement ring or a commitment ring, but it intertwines and connects in the back. I've never taken it off as it is a reminder of who were then and where we are now 🙂

My beaded necklace that I made myself. Hello old friend! I haven't seen you in ages (so to speak)! I am doing a book blog tour that has me talking about how I met each of the bloggers that are participating and your old #commenthour came up a time or two. Hope life is treating you well! I'm entering your raffle and I hope you will stop by and enter mine! Peace!
