People like to fit in. They join groups, tribes, cliques, and associations. I am no different. I like to fit in and feel like I belong. Last weekend that is exactly how I felt. I met my tribe, well one of my tribes. I finally got to meet, in person, some local women from Philadelphia who are Single Mothers By Choice (SMCs). Check out my video to see how it went.
There are many aspect to this journey to becoming a mom; saving money, making space in my home, trying to conceive and building my support system. Meeting some local women who are also SMCs is an important part of that support system. I will need to know other people who understand the unique stresses and complexities of choosing to have a baby on your own.
I am so glad I was able to attend the meet up last week. I look forward to being a regular attender at the monthly meet up. Have you ever gone out of your way to join a support group or social group that served a unique situation in your life? Have you ever joined a parenting group or a single moms group?

Congratulations on finding a good fit with the Single Mothers by Choice. I think it's important that you have support from people who have your experience. They are going through the same or a similar enough process so their input would be invaluable.
Yay, mothers! Thanks for doing what you do.
