Steps, Steps, Steps, There so many steps when it comes to becoming a mom. I know that is not the case for everyone. Some of you lucky ladies only have to give that special someone a really special hug and bam just like that you are on your way to motherhood. And then there are the rest of us. Some of us who have to watch our calendars and temperature charts for months and months and months. Some of us have to have expensive fertility treatments like IVF. I have found myself in this last group. IVF has so many steps on its own. So my steps to motherhood via IVF look like this.
Step 1a, lose weight and make BMI goal.
Step 1b, Take specific vitamins to improve egg quality
Step 2 get financing and pay for IVF
Step 3 Estrogen priming
Step 4 have baseline ultrasound to make sure everything looks good.
Step 5 Take simulation meds
Step 6 Trigger ovulation
Step 7 Egg retrieval
Step 8 recover from egg retrieval
Step 9 Egg transfer
Step 10 pray that It works
Step 11 Pregnancy Test
Step 12 monitor pregnancy hormones
Step 13 heartbeat
Step 14 Pregnancy
Step 15 Finally you’re a mom!!!
At any given time you will take step forward and then have to take a step back. As you guys saw in previous videos I made my weight loss goal and took my supplements (step 1). I got my loan to pay for IVF (step 2). I did my estrogen priming (step 3). Then I had my baseline ultrasound to make sure everything below the navel looked good (step 4). Unfortunately everything did not look good. I had a huge cyst so it was back to (step 3) for me again. It is daunting to see how many steps are still ahead of me. Oh well, I will stay the course. Today’s video is my new plan for step 3, estrogen priming. Check it out.
