The last few weeks I’ve been both unproductive and overwhelmed. Like I have said before, I am blaming this and everything else on being pregnant and mommy brain, LOL. Luckily, I am starting to get my life back together. For starters I made it to church yesterday. Thanks Daylight Savings!
I’m pregnant and happy I can finally talk about it on the blog. The truth is I am so so happy to be having a baby, it has been a long road to get here. However, I got very overwhelmed when I took the time to think about all of the things I need to get done before the baby comes in April. Add the overwhelm to being extra tired from growing a person and you get one unproductive mama to be.
At this very moment my house is a mess. I am behind on behind the scenes Chasing Joy work. Yes I have received your emails and am behind on responding to this. I have also severely neglected the blog post schedule here, which is supposed to be new posts every Monday and Friday with a Wednesday throw in if time and life events permit. I apologize Joy Chasers. Please accept today’s post as a sign that I am getting myself together. For this you can say Thanks Daylight Savings.
Why should you say Thanks Daylight Savings? Because without day light savings I likely would not have gotten up for Church this morning (waking up without an alarm on weekends is part of my self-care). Which means I would not be at my favorite away from home work space Corner Bakery Cafe eating pancakes while I type this. I also would have missed the message at Church which reminded me that God designed us to Do Great Work and that we should not neglect our gifts. My gift is encouragement. Chasing Joy blog, social media, and events are the method in which I share my gift.
While this bundle of joy growing inside me is my greatest gift it is not my only gift. It’s time I spend a little less time staring at my growing belly, googling when will I feel the baby move, and looking up nursery ideas on Pinterest and get back to work encouraging Joy Chasers.
So as you start another work week ask yourself these two questions
-
Am I Doing Great Work?
-
Am I Using or Neglecting My Gifts?
