A Joyful Birth Story!
One thing that a lot of unhappy people have in common is that they are not comfortable in their own skin. My prayer for baby Joy Chaser since the day he was born is that he would always love himself and feel comfortable in his own skin. That basic foundation will give him confidence to stay the course no matter what curve balls life throws his way.
Now there’s nothing I can do to guarantee that baby Joy Chaser will always love himself and feel comfortable in his own skin. But there are some things I can do to help encourage it. One of those things is normalizing baby Joy Chaser’s birth story.
When I decided to become a single mom by choice I also decided that my child would know their birth story from the very beginning. I would not be waiting until they were older to explain my Choice Mom status, fertility treatments or anything like that. I would make sure that they knew, in an age-appropriate way, from the very beginning how they got here and they were born out of love. Now that baby Joy Chaser is here I have implemented that by telling him and singing to him his birth story.
I tell him his birth story at least once or twice a week. He loves it. He starts to smile as soon as I begin. For my Keepsake and your viewing pleasure I’ve captured it on video. Check It Out Below.
Do you know your birth story? Do you tell your children their birth story? How do you help your kids love themselves and feel comfortable in their own shin?
