Dear 2014,
I knew you were coming but somehow I am really surprised to
see you. It seems like 2013 just got
here. In reality it has come and gone and you are here and I’m not quite
ready.
see you. It seems like 2013 just got
here. In reality it has come and gone and you are here and I’m not quite
ready.
There were a few things I’d wanted to do before you got here
2014. Some were practical things like
make my final year end donation at the Salvation Army, get all of my laundry
done, and wash the dog. Other things
were a bit less tangible, but a little more meaningful, things like set short
term goals for the year and decide if I wanted to make resolutions and if so
what they’d be. I have done none of
these things. See 2014, I really am not
ready for you even though I knew you were coming.

But fear not despite my lack of preparedness 2014 I have a
good feeling about our time together. I
have high expectations for you 2014. While
I have not yet pinned down my specific goals for this year I do have a general
idea of what I want from you. If I
decide to write one of those one word them for the year posts I know exactly
what my word will be, Confidence. That
is the main thing I want to focus on this year.

Over the last few years I have grown as a person. However, I am still not quite the woman I
want to be. I think there is lots more
awesomeness inside of me that is still yet untapped. I know
the key to tapping into my inner awesomeness is building my confidence. 2014 as the year goes on and I do zero in
and create some goals they will be related to accomplishments that will help me
feel more confident.

Now, just because you got here a little sooner than I expected,
2014 that does not mean we are aimless.
I already have a couple of things planned for us. I have a neat little project that will help
me to focus on having more faith and counting my blessings. I’m also thinking some about minimalist
living. Oh and I have a vision board for
2014 that I will be finishing. Guess what the theme is. Confidence!!!

2014 I think we are going to have a really good time. The very first thing on our agenda is only 10
days away. The Chasing Joy Brunch & Learn in Washington DC. I am co-hosting
with Curvy CEO. I am super excited to
connect with both of our blog readers in person. I also can’t wait to get some practical tips from Erika from Your Chic is Showing and Jese Gary from LuxeGiving on how to
improve my style and image in a way that makes me feel more confident. I hope
all my favorite DC bloggers and blog readers will join us. There are still a few tickets left.
