Yesterday was the first day of Spring. Yay for more daylight and warm weather. This is perfect timing for me to tell you about my recent day at the Philadelphia Flower Show. I was supposed to have this post ready for you last week, but you know, life happened.
This Last weekend I made my annual trip to the Philadelphia Flower show. Like last year and the years prior it didn’t disappoint. This little outing with my cousin was just what I needed considering things have been stressful lately. Nothing beats good company and pretty flowers. Might I add good company and flowers make excellent ingredients for self care.
Back to the Philadelphia Flower show; I really enjoyed it. This year’s theme was the National Parks. This was pretty interesting to me because I actually worked for the park service for exactly a year. It ended up not being a good job for me so when I say I worked there a year, I mean exactly 365 days. Anyway, in my one year working for the National Park Service I never got to any parks. So I enjoyed seeing the representations of the Parks in flowers. Below are some pictures of my favorite exhibits, exhibits that I thought looked a little creepy, and some I thought I might be able to do myself.
I loved this interpretation of Yellowstone National Park. It was complete with geysers and everything.
I would not wear this hat, but I think it’s neat how it is made of flowers. I also like how patriotic it is.
Since I am from Philly my absolute favorite exhibit is this interpretation of the liberty bell.
This one is kind of creepy if you think about how big the bird must be to live in this nest.
Would you sleep in this bed?
I think I could actually make this centerpiece.
I also did a cool video slide show that has many more pictures of the exhibits. Check it out below.
Have you been to the Philadelphia Flower Show? Does your city have its own local flower show?
