Unboxing My IVF MedicationsI am excited to share today’s baby making update video, unboxing my IVF medications.  I am so excited!  IVF is within my sights.  I got the okay to get started and now I have my meds.  It has been just over two years since I made the decision to become a Single Mother By Choice.  This journey has been much longer and rougher than I imagined.  But a baby could be in my arms before the end of 2017.  That would make 2017 the best year ever.

Speaking of the best year ever, before you check out the video let me take a moment to wish you the very happiest of New Years.  2016 has  been rough on a lot of us.  But I have high hopes for 2017.  I wish you happiness, health, prosperity in 2017.

Baby Making Update: Okay to Start IVF?

I have been working out hard.  I have cut back on carbs and calories.  I have switched my hand soap, lotion, deodorant, and other body products.  I have upped my vitamin, supplement, and mediation game.  I have done all of this to get my eggs in shape for IVF.  But when will that be?  Did I get the Okay to start IVF?  That is what I am talking about in today’s baby making updated video.

Happy Friday guys!  I hope you had a good week.  Mine was pretty good.  It went buy fast too.  I can’t believe we are back here for a Friday Baby Making update already.  Since my hail mary IUI was not successful I am taking the knowledge I gained from the book It Starts with the Egg and gearing up for IVF.  My first task as part of my Pre-Ivf protocol was to have a mock transfer and injection class.  Check out the video below to see how it went.

In  my last baby making update I told you guys I decided to go for a Fertility Hail Mary.  I decided to do IUI number 10!  Part of what lead me to that decision was knowing that my follicle count had improved when I did updated IVF prep tests.  Well along with the ultrasound that showed the higher follicle count I also had some blood work.  I had to wait a bit to get those results but they are in and I am sharing all of the particulars in the video below.   Spoiler Alert my ovaries are no longer 40!!!  They have aged backwards like Benjamin Button.

Repeat IVF Tests

My joyful life includes motherhood. I have always wanted to be a mom.  As a little girl I took care of my dolls like they were my real live babies.  I would never have imagined that I’d be 36 and still be dreaming about becoming a mother one day.  Luckily I am getting closer and closer to that day.  But first things first, I have to do repeat IVF tests.

I met with my doctor at the beginning of the summer and redid all of my fertility tests.  It had been about a year since I had last had the tests done.  The doctor wanted to see how things looked so that she could figure out my IVF protocol.  Well those test results came in and we were both shocked.  The were bad!!!  My doctor felt like it could be stress. She recommended I take DHEA and CoQ10 and do repeat IVF tests in three months.

Well, three months have come and gone.  I have taken the supplements, switched acupuncturists, and lost some weight.  Now it is time for the repeat IVF tests.  Check out the video to see what happened on test day.

Baby Making Update: IVF or, A New Plan

IVF or, A New PlanI am preparing for IVF.  I am taking tons of supplements and medications.  Ok not tons but plenty.  I am exercising and losing weight.  I am minimizing my exposure to toxins.  Lastly I am trying to relax.  This is all to improve my egg quality and count for IVF.  I am feeling so good about the changes I’ve been making that now I am thinking do I want to continue with the the prep for IVF or, a new plan.

Technically I don’t have to choose between prep for IVF or a new plan.  I am still a couple of months away from IVF so if I do something else now it will not change the timeline of the IVF.  So I’m thinking why not???  Should I go for IVF, or a new plan?  Of course I did a quick video about what the new plan could be and my reservations about the possible switch up.

Happy Friday yall.

This weekend is Father’s Day.  My dad has been gone 7 years now.  Over the years Father’s day  has become easier although part of me does wish I could skip it.  But at least I do have tons of awesome memories and my dad was great.  So great, as a matter of fact, that I have written several blog posts all about him.  (Feel free to read and share).  I think more than anything else now the holidays just make me want to have my own family even more.  I have so much love to give and there are so many experiences that I can’t wait to share.  And.. on that note I do have a baby making update for you.  My last update was about my IVF consult.  I am still headed in that direction.  Today’s update about financing IVF.

Baby Making Update: IVF Consult

IVF ConsultI have reached the end of the line when it comes to trying to get pregnant by IUI, Intrauterine Insemination.  I have been trying for 15 cycles without a successful pregnancy.  I have tried unmedicated and unmonitored cycles, monitored and mediated cycles with clomid, unmonitored and medicated cycles with clomid, and even back to back IUI with clomid.  I did get pregnant once but it ended in an early miscarriage.  So what now?  Do I give up? Do I throw in the towel?  Nope. Not this girl.  I am staying the course. Continuing on my Choice Mom journey and going to meet the RE for an IVF Consult.

Happy Friday!!!  It’s time for a Baby Making Update!

Before my Single Mother By Choice Q & A collaboration videos, on my last true baby making update, I told you guys I had some good news. The endocrinologist gave me the good news that my thyroid numbers were back in check and she was OK with me trying to conceive again.  After that I met with the RE (fertility doctor) who also gave me the OK to proceed.  It’s official I can try for baby once again!!!!  But, before I can start analyzing my temperatures and taking meds, before I ovulate, I have to make a decision.  So what’s the plan going to be, IUI or IVF? Who would have thought that creating the life I want for myself would involve so much medical intervention.

The Joy of Independence

The Joy of Independence. How becoming a Single Mother By Choice gave me my greatest Independence, freeing me from the fear of a dream unfulfilled.

Happy Independence Day Joy Chasers!

This little guy has given me my greatest independence. My dad (more than my mom) raised me to not need a man for anything. But rather the freedom to choose a partner that was right for me and to be able to walk away from a relationship that wasn’t.

But as I got older and had not found my Mr. Joy Chaser the realization that not having gotten married (yet) could rob me of one of my greatest dreams, Motherhood.

Dating became stressful instead of fun. Fear of this dream going unfulfilled stole joy from my birthday as the ticking of my biological clock got ever so loud.

Discovering the Single Mother By Choice community, fertility doctors, IVF, and having Baby Joy Chaser have given me my freedom back; my Independence to create the Joyful life I want and deserve including motherhood.

Happy 4th of July and Independence Day. May you find the Freedom you need to create the Joyful life you want and deserve.
