So what happened??? Absolutely nothing, LOL!!! I don’t know what I was expecting to happen. But a red rinse was fairly uneventful. It looked great. I was happy with it. A few people complimented me on it but most did not really notice it. I had thought about dying my hair red for years, was even a little afraid to do it, and it ended up not being a big deal at all. So what have I learned from this trivial act of dying my hair? Sometimes the things we wonder about for long time and build up in our heads end up not being a big deal at all. Most people, outside of your circle of friends, barely pay attention to the specifics of your look. It’s just hair; it does not change who you are, make you better or worse in any way or increase your worth as a person. And last but not least crossing something off of your to do list, bucket list, or Devil’s Workshop list, even something as trivial as a hair color definitely gives you a sense of accomplishment that beautifully complements JOY.
Joy Book – Chapter 1 Hairstory
One of the things I’ve always wanted to do that was included on my Devil’s Workshop list was to dye my hair red. I did just that this summer. Earlier this year I accomplished something with my hair that I’d wanted to achieve for some time. I managed to get it healthy, no split ends, no breakage. (Guys this may be an extremely boring post for you, sorry). Considering my healthy hair accomplishment I opted for a less damaging red rinse. Not permanent but Red nonetheless.

I think you should share a picture 🙂
Also, I agree with Gillian, good for doing what you'd be looking forward to – it's usually pretty gratifying 🙂

Good for you for doing what you'd been looking forward to, it's not about how others felt it's all about you. I remember in my 20's it was all about having, red highlights through the front of my hair which was in an eternal relaxed shoulder length bob. It looked great but wasn't so great for the long term condition of my hair but hey I wanted and I did it!

Love this part: "It’s just hair; it does not change who you are, make you better or worse in any way or increase your worth as a person"
I've always had long hair and my family are believers that a woman's hair is her beauty. so guess what I did with my first paycheck? I went to the hairdresser and got a bob haircut because I've always loved short hairstyles. Turns out they loved the haircut on me. #FBF

My color was blonde, I wanted to go blonde. FULL Blonde…. the colorist talked me into highlights, so I can see if I even liked it before fully committing….not to mention the cost as I have super dark hair…Needless to say I loved the highlights, and some people noticed and some people did not…I had a friend of mine, after a year of doing it, asked me, oh arelis, is your hair blonde lol I'm hoping one day I can afford to go full blonde even if its just the once 🙂 Sometimes color can make a big difference though, in high school I let my friend color my hair, I wanted strawberry blonde, and I got colors from white to bright orange…I was definitely noticed after that ….definitely not a rinse LOL

Nacia, Yes a ppermanent color would have been more drastic but not worth damaging my hair after finaly getting it healthy. It was more about doing something that I'd always wanted to do not so much about the shade or reaction. 🙂

I've tried the same thing with the same result. I think you gotta go with the permanent to get the drastic results u want.
