F is for Formalwear
I told you guys on Friday that I’d be headed to the #MacysProm party the following day. Well, I went and had a great time. It has been over 15 years since I went on my own prom, but I still liked looking at the dresses. While some of the themes in styles of dress may have changed over the years some things never will. Prom dresses, for many girls are the first time they put on formal wear and get to look grown up and beautiful. However, there is still a desire (from parents) to keep them from looking too adult and keep cost down. Macy’s has not missed the mark. I think teens and parents will be quite pleased with what is being offered this spring. Parent’s especially since Macy’s has several dresses that are under $99. Here is a glimpse of what was shown on the runway.
Pretty in Pink is always a great theme for Prom. |
Princess, is another theme that never goes out of style. What girl wouldn’t want to feel like a princess? |
For the teen who is not a girly girl, she may love this Beautiful in Blue theme. |
Holywood, is a more modern theme. Think bold colors, cut out designs, and accessories. |
Vintage, was the last theme shown on the runway. Think pearls, lace, fur, embellishments and designs inspired by the Great Gatsby and the 1920s. |
These two were my favorite from the Pretty in Pink theme. The dresses are feminine and fun, but still youthful. |
I really liked this Beautiful in Blue dress. The back of the dress won me over. The cut out makes the dress more interesting without being too revealing for a teen. |
I am not normally a fan of dresses that are short in the front but long in the back. However, the ruffles make it work. They make it light and airy and full of movement! |
This White Vintage themed dress is elegant and classically beautiful. |

Macy's has such gorgeous prom dresses. When I went to Prom back when I was in high school that's where I got my dress 🙂

I am loving the blue dresses, especially the Beautiful in Blue! I wore royal blue to my own prom – but I would've rather had something like that.

Oh my goodness, every last one of these dresses is stunning! I couldn't possibly choose a favorite. Maybe schools should have more than one prom! So many fab dresses, so little time!

LOL you springified your header! And I can't believe how informal prom is nowadays. Back them we did everything up!

The short white one in the "princess" section is such a sweet dress. I know girls like to look, hmm, perhaps a little too sophisticated, but I think that one is right on the mark. Love the pockets.

They have such pretty dresses! How awesome that they have affordable dresses, too. A friend of mine was talking about getting her daughter a dress and they were so pricey!

I have a few more years before I have to shop for prom dresses again. I love Macy's so hopefully my girls will be of 'normal' size and I will be able to shop here for prom.
